SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team earned a 258.795-201.770 win over Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon in Seguin. The win improved the Cru to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 over Division III opponents.
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.850 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.750 in Compulsory Pyramid. The Cru followed that with a 27.700 in Acro, led by a 9.500 in Seven Element Acro and a 9.250 in Five Element Acro. UMHB ended the first half of action with a 27.250 in Pyramid, led by an event-high 9.750 in Inversion Pyramid.
The Bulldogs scored a 29.400 in Compulsory, 22.050 in Acro and 24.650 in Pyramid, giving the Cru a 91.800-76.100 lead after the first three events.
The Cru opened the second half with a 26.500 in Toss, led by a 9.400 in 450 Salto Toss. UMHB scored a 50.250 in Tumbling, led by Addison Williams with a 9.425 in the Open Pass. The Cru closed the event with a 90.070 in Team Event, sealing the 258.795-201.770 win over the Bulldogs.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, March 9th in the program's first home tri-meet against Division II opponents Augustana and East Stroudsburg. The meet will open at 6 p.m. at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton. The Cru will follow that with another Division II opponent in Hawai'I Pacific on Friday, March 15th in Honolulu.
