Men’s Golf placed fifth at Texas Cup

DESOTO, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Texas Cup Tuesday in DeSoto.
 
The Cru shot an overall 295-300-300=895 (+31) to place fifth. Trey Archer was the lead Crusader, carding a second-day 75 and 72 to tie for 13th with an overall 74-75-72=221 (+5). Will Mullin placed 23rd with a 72-78-75=225 (+9) while being one of six athletes to record an eagle. Luke Lohman and William Sammons tied for 31st place with an overall 228 (+12) while Grant Carter shot a 229 (+13) to tie for 33rd place. Kyle Wandel also competed for the Cru finishing with a 232 (+16).  
 
LeTourneau University won the team competition with a 287-287-289=863 (-1). UT Dallas came behind them in second with an 865 (+1). Trinity University finished third with an 872 (+8), followed by UT Dallas (B) in fourth with an 877 (+13). East Texas Baptist University placed sixth with a +44, followed by Millikin University (+46), Carthage College (+53), Texas Lutheran University (+54) and University of Dallas (+61).
 
UMHB returns to action March 25th-26th at the Linda Lowery Invitational at Teravista Golf Course in Round Rock.
