Acrobatics and Tumbling sets multiple program records in win over East Texas Baptist

MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team set several program records Tuesday in a win over East Texas Baptist University. The win improved the Cru to 6-1 on the season and 6-0 over Division II and III opponents.
 
UMHB opened the meet with a 38.050 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.90 in Compulsory Toss, tying the program record. The Cru followed that with school records in both the Acro and Pyramid events. UMHB totaled a 29.45 in Acro, highlighted by a 9.95 in Five Element and a 9.80 in Seven Element, both matching previous school records. The Cru scored a 29.75 in Pyramid, highlighted by a perfect 10.00 in Open Pyramid. The perfect score was the second in program history, both coming in the Open Pyramid event. UMHB also set a new record in Inversion Pyramid with a 9.950.
 
East Texas Baptist scored a 28.000 in Compulsory, 23.00 in Acro and a 28.050 in Pyramid. UMHB ended the first half with a 97.250-79.050 lead over the Tigers.
 
UMHB set another program record in Open Toss with a 9.350, en route to a 26.700 in the Toss Event. The Cru set yet another program record in Tumbling with a 54.075, highlighted by a 9.00 in Duo Pass and a new-program record 9.650 in the Aerial Pass. The Cru closed the meet with a 95.710 in Team Event, totaling the program's highest score at 273.375.
 
ETBU scored a 25.200 in Toss, 41.575 in Tumbling and a 80.670 in Team Event to finish at 226.495.
 
Overall, UMHB broke or tied 12 program records in the meet. The Cru returns to action on Saturday, March 30th in 1 p.m. match against Texas Lutheran University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
