MEQUON, Wis. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team earned a 266.330-241.715 win over Texas Lutheran University to advance to the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association Division III Tournament Championship Thursday in Mequon.
UMHB opened the semifinal meet with a 37.475 in Compulsory, led by a 9.80 in Compulsory Toss. The Cru followed that with a 29.025 in Acro, scoring 9.625 or higher in all three heats. UMHB closed the first half of action with a 29.175 in Pyramid with just .825 in deductions.
Texas Lutheran opened the meet with a 33.75 in Compulsory, followed by a 25.125 in Acro and a 27.375 in Pyramid.
The Cru opened the second half of action with a new program record in Toss, led by a 9.60 in 450 Salto Toss. UMHB followed that with a 53.725 in Tumbling, with all three individual passes scoring 9.3 or higher. The Cru closed the meet with an 89.339 in Team Event to total 266.330 in the semifinal.
The Bulldogs closed the meet with a 26.425 in Toss, 46.550 in Tumbling and 82.490 in Team Event to finish at 241.715.
