BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team is travelling to Mequon, Wisconsin this week to compete in the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association Division III Championship Tournament.
The Cru earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will have a first-round bye. Tournament action opens with a trio of matches on Thursday, April 11
th. No. 4 East Texas Baptist and No. 5 Texas Lutheran will open action at 10 a.m., followed by No. 2 Trine and No. 7 Buffalo State at 2 p.m. Tournament-host Concordia University Wisconsin will compete in the final meet of the day at 6 p.m. against Stevenson.
UMHB will face the winner of ETBU and Texas Lutheran at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12
th, followed by a 2 p.m. meet featuring the winners of Thursday's other two meets. The final meet of the day will be a tri-meet with the three non-advancing tournament teams.
The NCATA DIII Championship will be Saturday, April 13
th at 10 a.m. The tournament will conclude with event finals at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13
th.
The tournament will be hosted at R. John Buuck Field House in Mequon. Admission prices are $20 for a tournament pass and $10 for a day pass. UMHB won the NCATA DIII Championship Tournament last season and is looking to repeat. The Cru is also ranked fifth in the NCATA Championship Rankings with the top eight teams competing in the NCATA National Championships April 25
th – 28
th at Fairmont State University in West Virginia.
