GLADEWATER, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team opened the 2024-25 season with a win at the Tempest Intercollegiate Tuesday in Gladewater. The Cru shot a 310-304=614 (+50) to finish at the top of the leaderboard, winning by 11 strokes.
Brooke Norman tied for first place in the tournament, shooting a second-day 76 (+6) to finish at 152 (+11) for the tournament. She lost the playoff to LeTourneau's Hannah Newell despite her approach shot landing 10-12 feet from the playoff hole.
Allie Ebbeler also shot a 76 (+6) in her second round, placing third with a 153 (+12).
Izzy Crow was also a top-five finisher, shooting a 77 (+7) to finish at 154 (+13) overall.
Avery Hill and
Camryn Kiser both finished the tournament with a 76 (+6) in the second round to place eighth at 156 (+15).
Lexie Manriquez also competed for the Cru, shooting a 165.
UMHB shot the tournament-low again in round two with a 304. LeTourneau University finished the tournament in second with a 625 (+61), followed by Hardin-Simmons in third at 653 (+89). East Texas Baptist moved up to fourth, carding a 667 (+103), followed by University of Dallas at 676 (+112) and Hendrix at 735 (+171). Jacksonville (+184) and Mississippi-Women (+213) also competed in the tournament.
