ROME, Ga. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team closed out the fall season with a team win at the Chick-fil-A Invitational Tuesday in Rome. UMHB shot a 305-295=600 (+16) in the tournament.
Claire Smith finished the tournament tied for first, shooting a 74-73=147 (+1). Smith also carded a tournament-high six birdies.
Camryn Kiser finished tied for fourth at 77-74=151 (+5), leading the tournament in par-4 scoring at E.
Julia Sosa and
Katie Rhude finished tied for eighth, both carding a153 (+7). Sosa shot a 73 (E) in the final round of action while Rhude carded a 74 (+1) in the opener.
Brooke Norman shot a 157 (+11) to finish tied for 15
th while
Izzy Crow also competed for the Cru, carding a 79 (+6) in the final round.
Huntingdon finished the tournament in second at +34, followed by Southern Virginia in third with a +48. Oglethorpe carded a +52 to end in fourth, followed by Virginia Wesleyan in fifth at +65. UMHB led the tournament in par-3 scoring (+6), par-4 scoring (+21) and par-5 scoring (+4). The Cru also carded a tournament-high 21 birdies and 117 pars.
UMHB closes out the fall season with three team wins and one second-place finish in five tournaments.
