ABILENE, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's and women's cross country each earned a second-place finish at the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday in Abilene.
Jeremiah Calderon took home third place in the men's 8K race, tabbing a time of 27:00.08. Joshua Young followed behind in fifth place finishing in 27.28.05. Andrew Young finished in 10th with a time of 29:03.23, with Ryan Anderson (29:08.76) close behind with an 11th place finish. Jesus Garcia (29:54.69) earned the 13th spot while Jayden Wylie (30:07.29) tabbed a 14th place finish. Angel Calderon (30:43.55) and Luke Saenz (30:46.71) also competed for the Cru.
Drea Gibson was the first Crusader to cross the finish line in the women's 6K race, earning a fifth-place finish with a time of 24:44.20. Tate O'Neal finished in seventh, tabbing a time of 25:40.69, while Cruz Avila (25:45.76) and Amiya Crosslin (26:02.04) finished in eighth and ninth, respectively.
Jeremiah Calderon and Joshua Young will move on to compete in the Men's NCAA DIII West Region Championship, along with Drea Gibson and Tate O'Neal who will race for the women. This meet will be hosted by Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, CA on November 15th.
