B.J. Stewart named to American Football Coaches Association All-America First Team

BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor senior B.J. Stewart was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America First Team, released Wednesday.
 
Stewart, a senior from Shreveport, earned the distinction as an all-purpose athlete. Stewart was also named American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Tri-Special Teams Player of the Year. He led the conference with 62 receptions on the season, totaling 776 yards. He scored a conference-high 11 touchdowns, averaging 12.5 yards per catch and 86.2 yards per game. Stewart also led the conference with 552 kickoff return yards and 200 punt return yards. He ran back one kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and one punt 61 yards for a score, both in the same game. Stewart averaged 46 yards per kickoff return and 15.4 yards per punt return, totaling 1,542 all-purpose yards this season. He was also a first-team all-conference selection at both wide receiver and return specialist.
 
This is Stewart's first All-America award as a Crusader and second overall.
