Acrobatics & Tumbling opens against No. 1 Baylor University

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team opened the 2025 season hosting No. 1 Baylor University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
 
UMHB opened the meet with a 36.350 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.70 in Compulsory Toss. The Cru tallied a 27.700 in Acro, led by a 9.650 in Seven Element and a 28.550 in Pyramid, highlighted with a 9.95 in Open Pyramid.
 
Baylor opened the meet with a 37.55 in Compulsory, led by a 9.85 in Compulsory Toss. The Bears added a 27.80 in Acro with an event-high 9.90 in Seven Element. Baylor closed the first half with a 29.35 in Pyramid, mirroring the Cru's 9.95 in Open Pyramid.
 
The Cru scored a 26.700 in Toss with a 9.25 in Open Toss. UMHB followed with a 49.175 in Tumbling, led by Riley Gray with a 9.225 in the Aerial Pass. The Cru finished with an 86.860 in Team Event to finish with a 255.335.
 
Baylor scored a 28.50 in Toss with three scores of 9.4 or higher. The Bears scored a 55.150 in Tumbling and finished the meet with a team event score of 97.890 for a total of 276.240.
 
UMHB returns to action on Monday, March 3rd in a 6 p.m. contest at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. The Bears, who are looking to defend their nine consecutive national championships, return to action against Long Island University on Saturday, February 15th.
