Women’s Golf names four to WGCA All-American Scholar Team

BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf named four athletes to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, released Monday.
 
Avery Hill, a senior from Keller, graduated with a 3.974 grade-point average as a marketing major. Hill competed in eight tournaments for the Cru, tallying three third-place finishes. She also helped her team to an ASC Championship win and advanced as an individual in the final two rounds of the NCAA Championship Tournament. Hill recorded a season-best 147 (+3) at The Legends Cup, recording a season-low 72 (E) at the ASC Championship and adding three rounds of 73(+1) in her senior season. She was also named ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, ASC Scholar Medal of Honor recipient and First Team All-ASC this season.
 
Allie Ebbeler, a freshman from Magnolia, competed in eight tournaments for the Cru this year with a 4.00 grade-point average. Ebbeler averaged a 79.76 over 17 rounds, recording a pair of top-five finishes for the Cru. She added two more top-20 marks with a season-low +2 at both the Eagles Bluff Intercollegiate and the ASC Championship.
 
Brooke Norman, a junior from Southlake, has a 4.0 grade-point average. Norman competed in six tournaments, carding a season-low 74 (+2) at the ASC Preview. She averaged a 78.76 over 13 rounds with a tie for first at the Tempest Intercollegiate. Norman added one more top-ten finish with two more top-20 marks.
 
Emma Iles, a freshman from Texas City, holds a 3.61 grade-point average as a Crusader. Iles competed in four tournaments for the Cru this season, averaging a 79.44. She recorded a season-low 74 (+2) at the ASC Championship, finishing top-10 at that tournament. Iles added three more top-20 finishes in her first season at UMHB.
 
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of women's golfers. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
 
This is the fourth award for Hill and first for Norman, Ebbeler and Iles.
