Women’s Golf picked to win ASC title

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team has been picked to repeat as American Southwest Conference champions in a voting by league coaches, released Wednesday.
 
UMHB totaled 23 points with three first-place votes in the poll, followed by UC Santa Cruz in second with 19 points and one first-place vote. Hardin-Simmons finished third in the poll, totaling 14 points while East Texas Baptist and Howard Payne finished with 10 points and nine points, respectively.
 
Camryn Kiser and Julia Sosa were also named to the ASC Players to Watch list.
 
Kiser, a junior from Seabrook, played in eight rounds this fall, averaging a 76.00. She recorded one round under par, finishing top five in three tournaments this fall. Kiser was also a First Team All-ASC selection last year.
 
Sosa, a sophomore from Austin, also played in eight tournaments with a 76.12 average. She had a season-low 69 (-3) at the Montgomery Intercollegiate and finished top ten in three tournaments this fall.
 
UMHB returns to action this spring at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational March 20th – 22nd.
