Acrobatics and Tumbling opens season with win over ETBU

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team opened the season with a win over East Texas Baptist University Monday evening in Belton.

UMHB opened the meet with a 36.350 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.700 in Compulsory Toss. The Cru followed that with a 28.200, capped off by a 9.700 in Seven Element Acro. UMHB closed out the first half with a 29.300 in Pyramid, with a perfect 10.000 in Open Pyramid for just the third time in program history.

East Texas Baptist opened the meet with a 23.850 in Compulsory, scoring an event-high 8.850 in Compulsory Pyramid. The Tigers followed that with a 21.900 in Acro, along with a 26.050 in Pyramid.

UMHB started the second half of action with a program-high 28.100 in Toss, highlighted by a school record of 9.850 in Open Toss, while the Tigers put up a 24.400 in the event. The Cru outscored ETBU in the Tumbling pass 49.325-42.200, highlighted by a 9.300 in Six Element Pass. UMHB topped ETBU in Team Event 75.36-63.11, sealing the 246.685-201.510 victory.

UMHB returns to action on Sunday, February 22nd in a 3:00pm meet against Baylor University (DI) in Waco.
