HOUSTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team finished third at the Space City Classic Tuesday in Houston.
Southwestern won the tournament at 288 (+1), shooting an 853 (+4) in the final round. Trinity University finished second at 856 (+4) with a third-round 283 (-1). UMHB carded a 286 (+2) in the final round, finishing third at 859 (+7). St. Thomas (+12) finished fourth while Texas Lutheran and Hardin-Simmons tied for fifth at +35. Concordia University Texas came in seventh with a +54, followed by Millsaps at +84.
Lucas Latimer tied for fourth individually, shooting a 68 (-3) in the final round to finish at 212 (-1).
Cole MacMillan came in seventh, carding a 72 (+1) on the final day to finish at even par.
Carter Demske placed 13
th with a 217 (+4), shooting a 72 (+1) in round three.
Evan Acevedo tied for 19
th with a 221 (+8) while
Colton O'Dell finished 30
th at 228 (+15).
UMHB led the tournament in par-5 scoring (-20) and birdies (51). Acevedo was the individual leader in par-5 scoring at -6 while MacMillan tallied a tournament-high 15 birdies.
