Acrobatics and Tumbling soars past East Texas Baptist

MARSHALL, Texas — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team earned a 262.085-219.535 win over East Texas Baptist Thursday evening. This victory improves the Cru's record to 5-3 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 4-4.

UMHB opened the meet tabbing a 36.350 in the Compulsory event, led by a 9.750 in Toss. The Cru followed with a 27.550 in Acro, highlighted by a 9.750 in Seven Element, along with a season-high 9.350 in Six Element. UMHB added a perfect 10.000 in the Open Pyramid heat to accumulate a Pyramid event score of 29.500. The Cru finished the first half with a total of 93.400.

ETBU started off with a 27.450 in Compulsory, highlighted by a 9.600 in Pyramid. The Tigers then added a 23.700 in the Acro event, topped by an 8.700 in Five Element. ETBU rounded out the first half with a 26.600 in Pyramid to head into halftime with a total score of 77.750.

UMHB opened the second half of action with a 27.900 in the Toss event, adding an event high of 9.750 in the Open heat. ETBU trailed the Cru with a 24.350 in the event. In the Tumbling event, the Cru put up a 50.325, highlighted by a 9.525 in the Six Element pass, while the Tigers added a score of 41.675. UMHB closed out the meet with a season-high 90.460 in Team Event to ETBU's 75.760, sealing the Cru's 262.085-219.535 victory.

UMHB returns to Marshall April 9th-11th to compete in the NCATA Division III Tournament, hosted by East Texas Baptist University.
