BELTON, Texas — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team dropped a 265.375-256.305 decision to Augustana University Sunday afternoon.
The Cru opened the meet with a 35.650 in the Compulsory event, highlighted by a 9.850 in Toss. UMHB followed tabbing a 28.200 in Acro, with an event-high 9.850 in Seven Element. The first half was rounded out with a 29.100 total score in the Pyramid event for the Cru, capped by a 9.950 in Open Pyramid.
Augustana kept a close lead through the first half of action, starting off with a 36.050 in Compulsory, followed by a 28.70 in Acro. The Vikings closed out the first half with a score of 29.55 in the Pyramid event, adding a pair of 9.90s in the Inversion and Open heats. Augustana led the Cru 94.300-92.950 to head into halftime.
The Cru out-scored the Vikings 27.800-27.650 in the Toss event. Both teams added an event-high of 9.550: UMHB in 450 Salto, and Augustana in Open. Augustana tallied a 53.375 total in the Tumbling event, while UMHB added a 49.025. The Vikings sealed the 265.375-256.305 win after scoring a 90.05 in Team Event to the Cru's 86.53.
UMHB returns to action in Eerie, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 18th in a 5:00pm (CT)/6:00pm (ET) matchup against Division II Gannon University.
