BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor announced the promotion of
Katelyn Kolodziejczyk to Acrobatics and Tumbling Head Coach on Thursday.
Kolodziejczyk joined the Cru as assistant coach last June. She helped the program to its fourth consecutive NCATA Division III Tournament Championship as the Cru also qualified for two heats at the NCATA National Championship Event Finals. UMHB also recorded the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association's first win of a Division III program over a Division I program.
"We are extremely excited to announce that Coach Kolodziejczyk will lead our Acrobatics and Tumbling program," Vice President for Athletics Dr. Hunter Sims said. "She is very committed to her faith, UMHB, and competitive excellence."
As a UMHB Acrobatics and Tumbling alum, Kolodziejczyk left the program as the most decorated student-athlete in program history. She was a two-time NCATA DIII Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year, NCATA DIII Specialist of the Year in 2022 and an NCATA All-American in 2024. She was also awarded the UMHB EXSS Dean's Leadership Award in 2024.
"I am incredibly honored and excited to lead the program that has played such a significant role in my life," Kolodziejczyk said. "UMHB has shaped me not only as a student-athlete and coach, but also as a leader and a person. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and relationships that have helped me grow and am eager to continue to build on that strong foundation, invest in our student-athletes and guide UMHB Acrobatics and Tumbling to continued success."
Kolodziejczyk came back to UMHB after one year of coaching as a graduate fellow for Augustana University Acrobatics and Tumbling (DII), where she earned a Master's in Sports Administration and Leadership in 2025. Augustana was ranked as high as fourth during the 2025 season as the program advanced to the semifinals of the NCATA National Championships.
UMHB Acrobatics and Tumbling is a four-time NCATA DIII Tournament champion and two-time NCATA National Championship qualifier. To date, they are the only Division III program to compete as a team at the NCATA National Championships, making their first appearance during Kolodziejczyk's senior year.
