WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team finished 11th after three rounds at the NCAA Preview Tuesday in Williamsburg.
Evan Acevedo won the individual title with a 64-70-70=204 (-9), carding three rounds under par. This was a historic tournament for Evan, shooting his personal best in a college tournament in round one with a 64 (-7), and winning his first collegiate tournament as an individual. Evan carded 14 birdies across three rounds and scored nothing higher than a bogey throughout the tournament. He led in par-4 scoring at -4 and ranked third in total birdies for the tournament.
Jonathon Baumann shot 220 (+7) for the tournament place T48.
Carter Demske shot 223 (+10) to place T59, followed by Will Mullin at 226 (+13) and
Jack Workman at 227(+14).
UMHB shot 287-290-293=870 (+18) to place 11th. Huntingdon won the tournament shooting 834 (-18). Kenyon finished second shooting 836 (-16). Emory finished third shooting 841 (-11), followed by Illinois Wesleyan in fourth at 843 (-9) and Carnegie Mellon in fifth with an 847 (-5).
The Cru returns to action October 5th-6th at the Blue Streak Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
