BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor junior Evan Acevedo has been named American Southwest Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the week ending September 22nd.
Acevedo won the NCAA Preview last week, shooting 64-70-70=204 (-9) to top the leader board. Acevedo's 64 (-7) was the lowest of his collegiate career and third lowest for a UMHB golfer. He also tallied the program's second-lowest 36-hole score and second-lowest 54-hole. Acevedo carded 14 birdies, scoring nothing higher than a bogey across all three rounds. He led the tournament in par-4 scoring (-4) and ranked third in total birdies.
UMHB returns to action October 5th – 6th at the Blue Streak Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
