LEXINGTON, Ken. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team is in third place after round one at the Transylvania Fall Invite Saturday in Lexington.
UMHB shot a 284 (-4) in the first round of action. Carter Demske and Jack Workman were the top scorers for the Crusaders, shooting 69 (-3). Harry Howell followed, shooting a 72 (E), while Will Mullin shot 74 (+2) and Evan Acevedo shot 75 (+3).
Jack Workman and Harry Howell led the Cru in birdies, both carding five birdies in round one. Evan Acevedo carded four birdies, with Carter Demske and Will Mullin adding three.
Trinity University leads the tournament after round one shooting 276 (-12). Shenandoah sits in second with a 283 (-5) followed by Illinois Wesleyan in fourth at 290 (+2).
The Cru began the second round of action but play was suspended due to darkness. The tournament will resume Sunday, September 6th at 8:15 a.m. before continuing onto round 3 to finish the tournament.
