LEXINGTON, Ken. – The UMHB Men's Golf team broke the program's 54-hole record in a season-opening win at the Transylvania Fall Invite Sunday in Lexington.
UMHB shot a 284-279-278=841 (-23), carding the lowest three round total in tournament and program history. The Cru opened the day finishing round two with a 279 (-9) and followed that with a 278 (-10) to win the tournament by four strokes.
Carter Demske and
Jack Workman finished fourth at 209 (-7), with both athletes carding three rounds under par.
William Mullin came in ninth at 211 (-5), carding a 67 (-5) in the third round.
Evan Acevedo finished 17
th at 215 (-1) while
Harry Howell (+9) also competed for the Cru.
UMHB led the tournament in par-4 scoring (-6) and birdies (59). The 841 (-23) broke last season's 54-hole record by one stroke. UMHB returns to action at the NCAA Preview September 21
