Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Sara is a three-year starter in right field and she will once again have a chance to claim a starting job in the outfield for the Cru this year. Sara played in 34 games and started 28 last season, batting .212 with 10 RBI. She also walked 11 times and was hit by a pair of pitches to post a .364 on-base percentage. Sara drove in five runs during the Saturday doubleheader against Schreiner University. She is a two-time ASC All-West Division selection and is also a two-time Academic All-ASC honoree. Sara set a new ASC record with 35 walks as a freshman and she also led the team in walks and ranked among the team leaders in runs and stolen bases as a sophomore. She has seven outfield assists in her career and her 70 career walks rank among UMHB’s all-time career leaders. Sara was an All-State softball player at St. Joseph Catholic High School and also earned Academic All-State honors as a volleyball player. Sara added letters in basketball and golf in high school. She is an exercise and sport science major at UMHB. Sara is the daughter of Miriam and Jaime Roman.
