Biography

Ashton is a talented and athletic player whose versatility will make her difficult to keep off the field for the Cru this season. She played her way into the line-up as an outfielder and catcher last season but could also see time in the infield this year. Ashton started 32 games last season, drove in seven runs and stole six bases. She will be counted on to fill a larger role in the offense this season. Ashton played two years of softball at Navarro College and was a Dean’s List student there. Ashton was Team MVP and a three-time All-District softball player at Robinson High School. She also lettered in volleyball and basketball for the Rockets. Ashton is majoring in psychology and counseling at UMHB. She is the daughter of Julie and Mike Cargill and Simone and Ron Mongiello.
