Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Chance has been the ace of the Cru starting rotation each of the past two seasons. He should once again nail down the #1 spot in the UMHB rotation this year. He was named to the ASC Preseason Players to Watch list.

2012: Appeared in 12 games for the Cru … Posted a 5-2 record with a 3.56 ERA … Struck out 69 batters, allowing just 61 hits and 26 runs. 2011: Started in 11 of 12 games played … Earned Second-Team All-West Division honors … Recorded a 6-4 record with a 4.13 ERA … Allowed 64 hits with 30 earned runs and 55 strikeouts. 2010: Made 12 mound appearances with 11 starts and a 5-2 record … Recorded a 4.30 ERA, allowing 73 hits and striking out four batters. 

Chance’s favorite professional sports team is the Texas Rangers. He enjoys listening to country music, and likes to play video games when he’s not on the baseball field. Chance’s favorite thing to eat is a hamburger and his can’t miss television show is Taken 2. He credits his dad for having the biggest influence on him as a person and an athlete.

Chance is studying exercise and sport science at UMHB. He earned district MVP and all-district honors as a baseball player at Rosebud-Lott High School. Chance was also an all-district basketball player and is an Eagle Scout. He is the son of Neal and Tammera Ryan.
