Biography

2017: Named Third Team All-West Region… Named ASC Co-Newcomer of the Year… First Team All-ASC honors…started in all 42 games with a .365 batting average…  opened the season with a 23-game hitting streak… led the Cru with 29 runs, 57 hits, three triples, 15 stolen bases and 126 assists… set new Division III-era program record for runs in a season (49).

Makenzi is a chemisty major at UMHB. She played basketball and softball at Robinson High School where she was an all-district honoree, Defensive MVP and TGCA All-State selection. Makenzi was also an academic all-district selection, member of National Honor Society and in the top 10 percent of her class. She is the daughter of Terry and Karri Dawson.
