Biography

2017: Spring Academic All-Conference Team… Second Team All-ASC honors… most dominate pitcher for the Cru in 2017… recorded a 2.80 ERA in 122.2 innings pitched… surrendered just 49 earned runs and 30 walks… struck out 45 batters. 2016: Second Team All-ASC … started in 22 games with 26 circle appearances … pitched nine complete games with two shutouts … allowed 154 hits with 58 earned runs … struck out 54 batters and walked just 32 … led the Cru with 123.2 innings pitched and a 3.28 ERA. 2015: Made appearances in 20 games with five starts … pitched one complete game and 45.2 innings … allowed 65 hits with 39 runs (29 earned) … walked 13 batters and struck out 20 … recorded a 3-2 record in the circle.

Karen is studying education at UMHB and wants to become a high school coach and teacher. She was a four-time all-district and three-time all-state softball player at Bay Area Christian School, where she was also a state all-tournament player and Player of the Year. Karen also earned academic all-state honors twice and was a member of the Leadership Training Institute. She is the daughter of Steve and Kathryn Tennis.
