Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Alex is entering his freshman season at UMHB. He chose the school because he wanted to play baseball here. Alex’s career goal is to work for an oil company. His pre-game ritual is to play Call of Duty and his most memorable sports moment was a four consecutive home-run performance in the playoffs in high school. If he could trade places with any professional athlete, Alex would be ‘The Sheriff,’ Peyton Manning and if he could win an Olympic gold medal, he’d choose diving. Alex’s nicknames are J, Smitty and AJ. His walkup songs are “Snow” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, “Magic Carpet Ride” by Steppenwolf, “Wish You Were Here” by Incubus and “Closer to the Sun” by Slightly Stoopid.

Alex is a sport management major at UMHB. He was a baseball and football letterman at Klein High School, where he was twice named all-district. Alex is the son of Barry and Phyllis Smith.
