Steven Ridings

Steven Ridings joined the Cru in August 2024. 

He came to UMHB after spending three seasons as the assistant coach at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. In his time with the Falcons, he guided the 2024 pitching staff to program bests in wins, strikeouts, K/9, and finished 23rd in the nation for ERA. Prior to coaching, Ridings was drafted in 2016 by the Seattle Mariners in the 29th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, playing with their AAA affiliate team for his highest level of experience. Ridings also played in the Frontier League with the Southern Illinois Miners (2018-2021) and the Gateway Grizzlies (2022).
 
Ridings played collegiate baseball at Messiah University while earning a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management (2016). He was named the 2016 Conference Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region, and was the #3 prospect in Division III baseball. He was a two-time first team all-conference selection along with one second team all-conference honor. Ridings was inducted into the Annapolis Area Christian High School Hall of Fame in 2019 and was named to the Valley Baseball League All Decade First Team (2010-2019). Ridings also earned his masters in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from Messiah University in 2024.

Ridings and his wife, Julia, have one daughter, Hallie.
