Jake is outstanding defensively and could step right into the starting line-up this season. He is expected to enter the year as the starting shortstop for the Cru.

Jake’s favorite professional sports team is the Colorado Rockies and his favorite professional athlete is Craig Biggio. Jake chose UMHB because of the baseball coaching staff and Christian environment. His career goal is to be a play Major League Baseball and be a high school baseball coach. Jake doesn’t miss an episode of Duck Dynasty and enjoys hunting, fishing, snow skiing and golf when he’s not playing baseball.

Jake is majoring in exercise and sport science at UMHB. He was an all-district baseball player at Bay Area Christian, where he also competed in football. Jake is a transfer from San Jacinto Junior College and the son of Mark and Suzanne Ricketts.
