Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

John is a business student at UMHB. He attended Bridge City High School, where he earned four varsity letters in baseball and was on the football team. John earned a trio of all-district and all-Orange County honors along with being awarded the 2024 District Defensive MVP with two team MVP titles. Academically, John finished high school with a 4.2 GPA earning him academic all-state. He spent four years on the student council, three of them as an executive, and was the student body vice president. John was a member of the Bridge City Ministerial Alliance and had an internship with Bridgepoint Fellowship 252. He began his collegiate career at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before attending UMHB. John is the son of Eddie and Mindy Van Huis.
