Sam missed last season with an injury, but is healthy again and should make a major contribution this year. Sam is a contender for the closer role for the Cru.

Sam’s favorite professional sports team is the Texas Rangers and his favorite professional athlete is Nolan Ryan. His career goal is to be a business analyst. Sam enjoys listening to all country music and his favorite movie is the Sandlot. He enjoys hunting when he’s not playing baseball and says his pre-game ritual is to look good, so he feels good, so he plays well. Sam credits his parents for having the biggest influence on him as both a person and an athlete.

Sam is studying finance at UMHB. He earned two MVPs and three Pitcher of the Year honors in baseball at Frost High School. Sam spent two seasons at Navarro College. He is the son of Matt and Debra Stroder.
