Biography

 2013: Second Team All-West Division … started in 43 games behind the plate for the Cru … led team in putouts (189) … caught 12 steals … added 24 hits, 13 RBI and one home run for a .304 batting average.  2012: Honorable Mention All-West Division … batted .293 with nine RBI … threw out seven base-stealers. 2011: Honorable Mention All-West Division … batted .241 with a homer and nine RBI … threw out 10 of 35 base runners attempting to steal against her.
 
Chandler chose UMHB because she liked the campus size, atmosphere and education program. She hopes to become either an elementary school teacher or a special education teacher. Chandler’s most memorable sports moment was beating U.T.-Tyler at home. Her nicknames are Chan or Chanie and her dream vacation is a cruise to Tahiti. If Chandler could win an Olympic gold medal, she’d be a gymnast. Her walk-up songs are “The Champ” by Nelly and “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.
 
Chandler was a four-time all-district softball player and two-time team MVP at Van Alstyne High School, where she also competed in volleyball and basketball. She is studying education at UMHB. Chandler is the daughter of David and Crystal Henson.
