Leah Guest is starting her first year as assistant coach for the UMHB softball program. Guest spent the 2020 season as a volunteer assistant coach at Baylor University before returning to her alma mater.
Guest was a four-year starter at third base for the Cru. She was a two-time NFCA All-American, three-time all-region selection and four-time All-American Southwest Conference honoree. Guest is the all-time UMHB record holder in home runs (34), RBI (159), runs (142), hits (217), total bases (381) and slug percentage (.726).Â
She was a state champion and all-state softball player at Crawford High School, where she also participated in volleyball, basketball and track. Guest spent the 2018 season as an assistant softball coach at the University of Texas at Tyler before coming back to UMHB to serve as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2019 season. Leah and her husband, Taylor, welcomed their daughter, Sophie, in July 2022.Â
