Hunter joined the Cru as assistant coach in summer 2024 after spending the 2024 season as a volunteer student assistant with the Cru. Hunter was a four-year member of UMHB's baseball team, earning a pair of all-ASC honors during his career. He played in more than 100 games for the Cru with more than 100 hits and 75 RBI in his career. Hunter added 63 runs and 30 extra-base hits during his tenure. He graduated in May 2024 with a degree in history.
