BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor announced the hiring of Zenarae Antoine as the next head coach for the women’s basketball program on Friday.
Coach Antoine comes to UMHB after 15 seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at NCAA Division I Texas State University with a 225-232 overall record. Antoine led the Bobcats to five postseason appearances, including a 2023 Sun Belt Championship. Antoine was also named Sun Belt Coach of the Year, Dave Campbell’s Basketball All-Texas Coach of the Year and Women’s Asian Coach of the Year (Global Sports & Events). Coach Antoine has coached 16 all-conference student-athletes, including the Sun Belt Player of the Year, with 17 1,000-point scorers and multiple student-athletes that have gone on to play professionally during her head coaching tenure.
Antoine also held recruiting coordinator jobs at Arkansas and Louisville, helping those programs to a combined five nationally-ranked recruiting classes. She also served as assistant coach at Ohio University and College of Charleston with two NCAA appearances as a coach during her career.
Antoine holds a bachelor of science degree from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Ohio University. She was a three-year starter at Colorado State, where she helped the Rams to a pair of league titles and two NCAA appearances.
Antoine is a native of Katy. She and her husband, Ronald, have three sons, Zavier, Zachary and Zayden.
