Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team fell behind midway through the first half and the Cru could not comeback in a 2-0 loss to the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in Belton. The loss snaps UMHB's eight match winning streak and drops the Cru to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in American Southwest Conference play. The Eagles improve to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the ASC with the victory.
            Ozarks would take a 1-0 lead when Philip Johnson scored off an assist from Anthony Santoro 23 minutes into the match. The Eagles added an insurance goal when Scott Janders added an unassisted goal 10 minutes later. UMHB had chances but the Cru could not convert, even though UMHB outshot the Eagles 14-8 in the match. Mark Miller had one save in goal for the Cru and saw his scoreless streak of 630:02 come to an end with Johnson's goal. Neil Thompson had one save and posted the shutout in goal for the Eagles.
            UMHB will now hit the road for a pair of ASC matches next week. The Cru will take on Mississippi College in a 3:00 PM start next Thursday before closing out the week with a 1:00 PM start at Louisiana College on Saturday.
