Pineville, LA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team grabbed a quick lead and never looked back as the Cru women rolled to a 6-0 victory over Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in Pineville, Louisiana. The UMHB women improve to 9-4 overall and 8-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Wildcats to 1-15 overall and 1-8 in the ASC on the year.
The Cru grabbed a 1-0 lead when Lexy Smith scored early in the first half. Smith would add an assist on Angel Kemmerer's goal to make it 2-0. Lindsay Hunt and Mickie Arredondo added goals and Erin Salyer had two more goals to account for the UMHB scoring in the victory. Allyson Sargeant played the first half in goal for UMHB and Erica Harris took the second half to combine for the shutout for the Cru women.
The Cru will now return home for a pair of key ASC matches next weekend. UMHB will host Hardin-Simmons University for a 1:00 PM start on Friday before welcoming McMurry University to the Cru Sports Plex for a 1:00 PM kickoff on Saturday.
