Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will host Louisiana College for another key American Southwest Conference showdown this Saturday in Belton. The Cru and Wildcats will kick off at 1:00 PM at Tiger Field in a match-up of two of the teams near the top of the ASC standings this season. UMHB is 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the ASC and the Cru joins Mississippi College as the only two teams still unbeaten in league play this season. Louisiana College is 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the ASC after dropping a 54-44 decision to Mississippi College last Saturday. UMHB will bring a 32-game ASC winning streak into Saturday's game and the Cru has not lost to the Wildcats in the previous eight meetings between the two teams. But the Wildcats also have one of the most explosive offensives in the conference and LC is also ranked among the league leaders in most defensive categories. So the Cru expects another tough challenge when the two teams hit the field on Saturday.
“Their quarterback can really throw it and they have a whole host of receivers,” Cru head coach
Pete Fredenburg said. “They have a lot of excitement in their program right now and I think they are much improved. We know that they are going to come in here charged up. This will be the best set of skill players we've faced so far and they will certainly be the biggest test we've seen this year.”
UMHB won last year's meeting 35-10 in Pineville. The Cru is currently ranked third in the country by both the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com. The UMHB athletic department will once again offer live video streaming and live audio streaming of the football game in Saturday, along with live stats of the game.
