Men's soccer edges Austin College 2-1 in overtime

Sherman, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team watched a second-half lead slip away, but the Cru battled back for a 2-1 overtime win over Austin College Saturday afternoon in Sherman. The UMHB men improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory. The loss drops the Kangaroos to 0-3 on the year.
            The two teams were scoreless into the second half before Ben Allen converted a penalty kick at the 65:41 mark to give the Cru a 1-0 lead. Austin College would tie it on Luis Castillo's goal 76:22 into the match. It would stay that way into overtime before Bo Baker scored off a Trevor Shoppach assist 7:19 into the extra session to give the Cru the victory.
            Mark Miller finished with five saves in goal for the Cru. Grant Gosselin had seven saves in goal for Austin College. UMHB out shot the Roos 23-20 in the match. 
            The Cru men will continue their road trip with the start of American Southwest Conference play next weekend. UMHB will travel to Seguin to take on Texas Lutheran University next Friday. The Cru will then head to Kerrville to take on Schreiner University next Saturday.
