Georgetown, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team grabbed a first half lead but could not hold on as the Cru dropped a 2-1 decision to Southwestern University Saturday afternoon in Georgetown. The loss drops the UMHB men to 1-1 on the season. The Pirates improve to 3-0 on the year with the victory.

            UMHB took a 1-0 lead when Bo Baker scored off an assist from Andrew Carrasco 13:43 into the match. The goal was Baker's second of the season. It would stay 1-0 into the second half before Southwestern tied the game on Alex Keller's goal off an assist from Evan Perkins at the 62:01 mark of the match. The Pirates would score what proved to be the game-winner 1:45 later when Charlie Schreck scored an unassisted goal. The Cru could not answer and only managed one more shot the rest of the way.
            Mark Miller had seven saves in goal for the Cru. Nick Pierce had two saves in goal for Southwestern. The Pirates out shot UMHB 15-4 in the match.
            The Cru men will now have a week off before returning to action. The UMHB men will travel to Sherman next Saturday to take on Austin College in a non-conference match.
