Abilene, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team took control of the match early and the Cru women never looked back in a 5-1 victory over McMurry University Friday afternoon in Abilene. The UMHB women improve to 6-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops McMurry to 2-10 overall and 2-6 in the ASC on the season.
            Taylor Bullock gave the Cru a 1-0 lead when she scored off a Jordan Powers assist just 6:26 into the match. Bullock would make it 2-0 when she scored on a one-timer off a Laura Briner assist at the 9:33 mark. Lexy Smith would add an unassisted goal in the 30th minute and Meredith Norman scored off another Powers assist in the 44th minute to make it 4-0 Cru at halftime. McMurry would close to within 4-1 before Powers added an insurance goal off a deflection in the 66th minute.

            Meredith West finished with two saves in goal for the Cru women. UMHB would out shoot McMurry 35-6 in the victory and the Cru also held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

            The Cru will close out the road trip with a 1:00 PM start at Hardin-Simmons University tomorrow. The Cowgirls are ranked #2 in the country. UMHB will then return home to host Howard Payne University in a 1:00 PM start next Saturday at the Cru Sports Plex.
