Abilene, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team could not overcome Hardin-Simmons second-half offensive explosion and the Cru fell to the #2-ranked Cowgirls 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Abilene. The loss drops the UMHB women to 6-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in American Southwest Conference play. Hardin-Simmons improves to 13-0 overall and 8-0 in the ASC with the victory.
            Hardin-Simmons would open the scoring on Katie Kuykendall's unassisted goal in the 26th minute. It would stay that way into the second half before Amy Kuykendall scored a pair of goals in a six-minute span. The first came 2:51 into the second half. The Cowgirls would add a pair of insurance goals after that to put the match out of reach.

            Erica Harris finished with five saves in goal for UMHB. Rebecca Roth and Haley Martin combined for three saves in goal for HSU. The Cowgirls outshot the Cru 20-3 and held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks in the match.

            The Cru will now return home to close out the regular season with four straight home matches. UMHB will open that stretch with a 1:00 PM ASC match against Howard Payne University next Saturday at the Cru Sports Plex.
