Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team used a stifling defensive effort and a timely overtime goal to post a 1-0 overtime win over 24th-ranked U.T.-Dallas Saturday afternoon in Richardson. The Cru improves to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Comets to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in ASC play.
The two teams had chances in regulation play but could not find the back out of the net. The Comets outshot the Cru 20-6 in the first 90 minutes of the match, but Cru keeper Mark Miller turned away the only four shots UTD could put on goal. UMHB broke through and ended the match 6:26 into overtime. Ben Allen had a long throw-in that Vincent Morales and Chris Torres redirected to Neiko Camp. Camp put the ball into the upper left corner of the net to give UMHB the victory.

Miller finished with four saves to post his fifth shutout of the season. Bailey Williams had one save in goal for the Comets. UTD outshot UMHB 20-7 and the Cru only managed to put two of those shots on goal. The Comets also held an 11-1 edge in corner kicks in the match.

The Cru will now return home to host a pair of ASC matches next weekend. UMHB will take on Louisiana College in a 3:00 PM start on Friday before closing out the weekend with a 3:00 PM start against Mississippi College on Saturday.
