Women's soccer beaten by U.T.-Dallas 3-0

Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team could not overcome a second-half scoring barrage from U.T.-Dallas and the Cru dropped a 3-0 decision to the Comets Saturday afternoon in Richardson. UMHB falls to 3-4-1 overall and 2-3-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the loss. U.T.-Dallas improves to 5-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the ASC with the victory.
            The two teams were scoreless through the first half and it would stay 0-0 late in the second half. The Comets finally broke through when Eboni Udenze scored off a corner kick in the 72nd minute to make it 1-0. UTD then added a pair of goals in a 1:44 span in the final seven minutes of the match to put it out of reach. Kimmie Grimes scored the first goal at the 83:20 mark and Leah Bowyer followed with a goal 85:04 into the match.

            Erica Harris had four saves in goal for the UMHB women. Andrea Jones had six saves in a shutout performance for the Comets in goal. U.T.-Dallas outshot the Cru 17-9 in the match and the Comets also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.

            The Cru women will now return home to host a pair of ASC matches next weekend. The UMHB women will play host to Louisiana College for a 1:00 PM start next Friday before facing Mississippi College in a 1:00 PM kick on Saturday.
