Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team broke open a tight match with a big second-half and the Cru women rolled to a 4-0 victory over Louisiana College Friday afternoon in Belton. The UMHB women improve to 4-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Wildcats to 0-11-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the ASC on the season.
            The Cru grabbed a 1-0 lead when Laura Briner scored off a Megan Jones assist 23-13 into the match. UMHB would have other chances in the first half, but could not sneak another shot past Wildcat goalkeeper Emily Breaux. Breaux had 12 saves in the first half as the Cru put 13 shots on goal in the period. UMHB would start to open it up early in the second half. Kim Wobecky's goal off an assist from Alison Bullock 2:28 into the second half made it 2-0 Cru. Jordan Powers would add a goal off Camryn Powell's assist at the 69:11 mark to make it a 3-0 UMHB lead and the Cru would add an insurance goal when Kristyn Rhorick scored off a rebound in front of the goal to provide the final margin.

            Erica Harris went the distance in goal for UMHB to post the shutout. The Cru out shot Louisiana College 46-0 in the match and put 25 of those shots on goal. UMHB also held a 13-0 edge in corner kicks. Breaux finished with 21 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

            The Cru will wrap up the weekend with a 1:00 PM home match against Mississippi College tomorrow at the Cru Sports Plex. UMHB will then hit the road for ASC matches at McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University next weekend.
