Box Score Marshall, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team rallied from a second-half deficit, but the Cru women could not get the game-winner home in a 1-1 double overtime tie with East Texas Baptist University Saturday in Marshall. The Cru is now 2-1-1 overall on the season and moves to 1-0-1 in American Southwest Conference play.
The two teams were scoreless through the first half before ETBU finally broke through with 20 minutes remaining in the match. UMHB would tie the match when Erin Salyer scored off an assist from
Lexy Smith with 16 minutes remaining in regulation. The Cru would have chances in both extra periods, but had a couple of shots hit the crossbar and several other good scoring chances go wide.
Meredith West made the tie stand up, finishing with four saves in goal for the Cru.
UMHB will now return home for a pair of ASC matches next weekend at the Cru Sports Plex. The Cru women will host U.T.-Tyler for a 2:00 PM start on Friday before facing Concordia Texas in a 1:00 PM start next Saturday.
