Box Score Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team battled back from an opening set loss, but the Cru comeback fell just short in a 3-2 loss to the University of Dallas Saturday afternoon in Richardson. The loss drops UMHB to 7-8 overall on the season. Dallas improves to 12-0 with the victory.
The two teams would trade sets before Dallas controlled the fifth set to post a 25-20, 21-25, 27-25, 16-25, 15-7 victory.
Tina Miller topped the Cr with 15 kills and
Kimberly Smidovec added nine more.
Erin Maenius topped four players in double figures in digs with 16 in the match.
Anissa Garcia added 13 digs to go with 18 assists and
Alexis Tharp also had 18 assists for the Cru.
Kaydie Cochran had 11 digs and Smidovec chipped in with 10 for UMHB.
TheresaWohldmann led Dallas with 20 kills and she added a team-best 19 digs. Elizabeth Baska added 15 kills and Danielle Fuchs had a double-double with 13 kills and 15 digs. Amanda Kitten led the team with 51 assists.
The Cru will now return home to host St. Thomas University in a 6:00 PM non-conference match next Tuesday at the Mayborn Campus Center. UMHB will then hit the road for conference road matches at Mississippi College and East Texas Baptist University next weekend.
