Volleyball falls to 18th-ranked U.T.-Dallas 3-0

Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell behind early and never recovered in a three-set loss to nationally-ranked U.T.-Dallas Saturday in Richardson. The loss evens the Cru's record at 7-7 overall and 1-1 in American Southwest Conference play. The 18th-ranked Comets improve to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the ASC with the victory.
            The Cru lost the first set and never recovered in the 25-14, 25-22, 25-16 loss. UMHB would hit -.029 per cent in the match while the Comets hit .255 as a team. The Cru also committed pair of ball-handling errors and two blocking errors in the loss.

            Erin Maenius led UMHB with 20 digs and Anissa Garcia had a team-best six assists. Tina Miller had eight of the Cru's 18 kills in the match. Jessica Nassau topped the Comets with 14 kills and Dana Hilzendager also reached double figures with 11 kills. Niki Calverley had a team-high 39 assists and Amber Wetz topped the Comets with 11 digs.

            UMHB will now take on the University of Dallas in a non-conference match in Richardson today. The Cru will then return home to host St. Thomas University for a 6:00 PM home non-conference match next Tuesday at the Mayborn Campus Center.
