Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team could not overcome an early deficit and the Cru fell to U.T.-Tyler 2-0 Friday afternoon in Belton. The loss drops the UMHB women to 2-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in American Southwest Conference play on the season. The Patriots improve to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the ASC with the victory.
U.T.-Tyler grabbed a 1-0 lead just 7:49 into the match when Lauren Thomas scored off an assist from Kendall Kramer. The Cru defense stiffened from there and it would stay 1-0 until early in the second half. Analiz Medina hammered a shot off the leg of a UMHB defender and into the net off another assist from Kramer to give the Patriots a 2-0 edge 5:38 into the second half. The Cru had chances, but could not get a shot past U.T.-Tyler goalkeeper Morgan Dux. Dux finished with six saves in a shutout performance. Erica Harris had five saves in goal for UMHB. The Patriots also outshot the Cru 15-11 in the match.

The Cru will continue its home stand with another ASC match tomorrow. UMHB will host Concordia Texas in a 1:00 PM start. The start time of that match was moved up one hour from the original schedule to help avoid a conflict with the Cru's home football game tomorrow night.
