Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer fell to the Comets 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Belton. The loss drops UMHB women to 2-7-1 overall and 2-4-0 in American Southwest Conference play. UT-Dallas improves to 7-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in ASC play. The Cru could not find a way to crack the Comet defense.
The Comets would take a 1-0 lead when Leah Bowyer scored off an assist from Emily Hokanson at the 13:13 mark of the first half. Bowyer's goal would be the only scoring for the Comets during the first half of play. Nicole Frank scored a goal assisted by Carli Beckett at the 50:05 mark. The Comets would take a 3-0 lead off a penalty kick by Emily Hokanson in the second half. Leah Bowyer had three shots on the day. The Comet offense took eight total shots compared to the Cru four. Comet goal keeper Brittany Best had two saves.
